Plasmon PLC, a provider of archiving solutions, announced Monday NetArchive, its enterprise-class archive solution that blends online and long-term storage archive architectures with bundled data management software to provide data integrity, longevity, and disaster recovery, to ensure critical data is highly available and authentic.
Plasmon's NetArchive is a combination of technologies that recognizes that different data classes have requirements for access, e-discovery, and longevity. NetArchive integrates NetApp RAID technologies with Plasmon's Archive Appliance and data management software to allow customers to provision data within NetArchive according to its storage requirements.
NetArchive is an easy to order and install, integrated solution that provides immediate access to critical data through RAID (redundant array of independent disks) storage, and a long-term, energy-efficient copy on Plasmon's Archive Appliance. By provisioning data to NetArchive, data can be moved between RAID and the Archive Appliance through automated policy management software, reducing the cost and complexity of managing archives.
For more than 21 years, Plasmon has partnered with global organizations to implement long-term archiving solutions. Plasmon provides customers with a proven methodology for establishing and managing enterprise archives as part of their IT and business processes. Plasmon solutions are designed for long-term archiving without a product agenda and offer customers choice and flexibility to help them manage data growth, reduce archive complexity, enhance operation efficiencies, reduce cost and mitigate governance risk.
Plasmon PLC is listed on the London Stock Exchange, and is headquartered in Cambridge, United Kingdom, with offices globally.
"NetArchive is a key step toward the realization of Plasmon's strategy to simplify the archive process through virtualization," said Steven Murphy, Chief Executive Officer, Plasmon. "NetArchive revolutionizes our customers' approach to archiving by delivering an intelligence-based system behind a single storage node. The NetArchive leverages appropriate storage technologies to balance capacity, performance, and storage costs against the legal and business value of data and improves operational efficiencies while meeting customer requirements for a robust disaster recovery strategy."
Terri McClure, ESG analyst, adds, "Customers can no longer afford to deal with the complexity associated with the morass of solutions most vendors offer to move persistent data to secondary, tertiary, and off-site storage tiers. IT professionals want a virtualized archive solution to manage data for business and regulatory requirements with multiple price, performance, and retention choices. Plasmon NetArchive enables just that solution."
NetArchive is available immediately through Plasmon and certified Plasmon resellers. |
